Us in our hotel in Waikiki on Oahu. We stayed at the Hyatt and
had a great view!
We rented a convertible to get around the island. Most excellent.
Aunt Cookie after her first hula lesson giving a demonstration!
Say Cheese! Tony, Cookie and Fred in back, Valerie, Grandma, and
Gina in front.
We are modeling the latest in Hawaiian fashions.
Us in front of the tree in back of our room on Kauai. We were
50 yards from the ocean and we woke up to the sounds of the crashing surf
every morning. It was very relaxing.
I took a hiking trail up the Napoli Coast. This was a great view
that I found along the trail.
Here is me at the end of the trail at the beach. Up river was
a set of waterfalls but it was a 4 hour round trip and I only had 30 minutes
left before I had to turn around for the 90 minute hike back out.
Gina and I at the top of a ridge overlooking the taro-root fields.
Taro-root is what is used to make poi. Poi is a gray/blue sticky,
goopy, gluey mess that is eaten with just about everything in Hawaii.
We tried it but were unimpressed.
Here we are ready for take-off on our helicopter tour of Kawai.
Gina and I played copilot while Fred, Grandma and Sis were in back.
Certain others (who will remain unnamed) chickened out of coming on the
flight!
A shot of Kauai at altitude. Unfortunately the extra disks for
my camera were the old 520K size and my camera couldn't use them.
Thus we are stuck with only these two good images of the flight.
We took other pictures with our regular camera so it wasn't a total disaster.
We had a great time on the flight which lasted about an hour and a half.
