Hawaii Trip

We took a sunset cruise on the Spirit of Kauai.  Here is a shot of the boat we took out.  It's a catamaran and it was a great sailboat.  We saw a pod of about 8 dolphins and we saw 3 or 4 whales.  We saw various tail slaps and breaches of the whales as well as the spouts when they came up to breathe.  It was great fun.

The trip was cloudy but we did get to see the sunset.  It was also cold and windy but we still had a great time.

Here is a picture of Gina in the sunset.

Once we got out of the harbor the crew cut the engines and raised the sail.  We started going really fast as soon as the sail went up.  Here is a picture of Gina below the sail.  I layed down on my back to take the picture and you can see how high the sail goes up.

Here is a shot of Fred on the bow.  A few minutes later he was doing his Titanic "King of the World" impression when he thought noone was looking.  He strictly denies that Cap'n Andy's Jungle Juice had anything to do with the incident.

Here is a shot of us as the sun goes down.

The day of the boat trip we went SNUBA diving.  SNUBA is the same as SCUBA except the air tanks ride on a raft on the surface and you are connected to them by a hose.  You also have a guide that takes care of all the worries so all you have to do is have fun.  Gina and I think we'll get certified to SCUBA on our next tropical vacation.

Here is a picture of me overlooking Waimaea Canyon in the middle of Kauai.  It looks a lot like the Grand Canyon but not quite so big.  It was really beautiful.
